Preserve the beauty of your silk: essential care tips

Preserve the beauty of your silk: essential care tips

Silk is a delicate, natural fabric made of protein fibers. Follow these simple steps to keep your pieces in good condition.

Storage

  • Store silk in a cool, dry place, ideally in a breathable cotton bag.
  • Keep it away from direct sunlight and humidity to prevent fading or weakening.
  • Avoid contact with rough surfaces to prevent snags.

Washing

To preserve the quality of the silk and the integrity of the design, we recommend professional dry cleaning. Avoid machine washing, soaking, or using harsh detergents, which can damage the fabric.

Drying

  • Do not wring or twist silk fabric, as this can break the fibers.
  • Lay the silk flat on a clean towel, roll it up and press gently to remove excess water.
  • Lay flat to dry or hang on a padded hanger away from direct sunlight.
  • Never use a tumble dryer.

Ironing

  • Iron while silk is slightly damp, using the lowest heat setting (silk mode).
  • Always place a cloth between the iron and the fabric to prevent heat damage.
  • Avoid steam directly on silk to prevent water stains.

Extra tips

  • Avoid spraying perfume, deodorant, or hairspray directly on silk to prevent stains.
  • If dry cleaning is needed, choose a cleaner experienced with silk fabrics.
